This Privacy Policy explains how SeoCited (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit seocited.com or use our services. By using our site or services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated by using the service:
- Account & contact details — email address and store URL provided at checkout or onboarding.
- Onboarding information — your store's niche, goals, priority products or collections, and any brand or style guidance you give us.
- Payment information — processed entirely by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Usage & device data — pages visited, browser type, and approximate location, collected automatically via cookies and analytics tools.
- Support communications — anything you send us by email, including attachments and message content.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To deliver the service: research, content writing, publishing, and reporting.
- To communicate about your account, billing, and support requests.
- To process payments, prevent fraud, and enforce these policies.
- To operate, secure, and improve our site and services.
- To send service updates and, where permitted, occasional product news you can opt out of at any time.
3. Payment & Billing
All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. SeoCited does not store your payment card information — Stripe handles that under its own security standards (PCI-DSS Level 1). Billing is monthly, and you can view invoices or cancel at any time through your Stripe customer portal or by emailing us.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these limited cases:
- With service providers who help us operate — payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, hosting, and analytics — bound by their own confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- To publish content to your store, using the scoped access you grant during onboarding.
- If required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SeoCited, our users, or the public.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you where required.
5. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for a few defined purposes:
- Essential cookies — required for the site and checkout to function.
- Analytics cookies — help us understand traffic and improve the site (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Preference cookies — remember choices like cookie consent.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site, including checkout, from working correctly. We do not use cookies for third-party ad retargeting.
6. Data Retention
We keep account and billing information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations (typically up to 7 years for financial records, in line with standard bookkeeping practice). Onboarding and store-access information is retained only while needed to deliver the service and is deleted or anonymized within 90 days of cancellation, unless you request earlier deletion under Section 7.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws like the GDPR (EEA/UK) or the CCPA/CPRA (California) to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your information, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Receive a portable copy of information you provided to us.
- Opt out of non-essential communications at any time.
We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of under “do not sell.” To exercise any right above, email us at the address in Section 10; we will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS), access limited to personnel and processors who need it, and reputable, security-vetted third-party providers (Stripe, our hosting provider) for sensitive functions. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision. If we make a material change, we will notify you by email before it takes effect. Continued use of our site or services after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
10. Contact
Questions about this policy or a request under Section 7? Email support@seocited.com. We reply within 1 business day.
